Let's Play Piano

Short Term Goals

At each lesson, I assign students something to work on for their next lesson. These are their short-term goals, and they help students to prepare for their next lesson. They also help them raise their song to the next level of playing.

These are some examples of short-term goals:

While these aren't life-changing goals, they will help move along your playing and raise it to the next level.

Recognizing and completing the next actions is a way to increase productivity. Setting a few short-term goals can help get you out of a rut and on the road to steady improvement.

Each of my students has a notebook where I record goals that I think the student can accomplish during the week.

Some students ignore my concise weekly assignments and I have to reassign them for the next week. The students who follow my suggestions from week to week move along faster than those who don't.
